Can you verify that the MySQL query works if you paste it into MySQL (e.g on the mysql command line or into phpMyAdim)?
Yes, mySQL is working 100% okay. The rest of the site is working absolutely fine, as normal, it’s just any query i run using the $modx->db->query API function that returns "resource id #44", for example.
Oddly, each occurence of this increments the # by the number of dynamic elements on the page, eg:
<p>[*standard field*]</p> // renders ok
<p>[custom sql result]</p> // renders as "Resource id #2"
<p>[*standard field*]</p> // renders ok
<p>[custom sql result]</p> // renders as "Resource id #4"
<p>[*standard field*]</p> // renders ok
<p>[custom sql result]</p> // renders as "Resource id #6"
The thing is i’ve used this standard custom query on loads of pre 1.0.0 modx installations with no problems at all. Is this a 1.0.0 issue? Dare I say it, a bug??
Really weird!!

Try remove modx_
Thanks, but makes no difference as I’m using "query" not "select". however i changed the script to use "select" and the same results occur...
