    Hi,

I’m currently pitching for a new site, and one of my clients requriements is to allow "Content Editors" to create pages, edit, save, but not publish pages (publishing will be done by admins). I know this can be set up for new pages, but I cannot see any way of limiting "Content Editors" from publishing edited content on existing pages. For example, a change is required to homepage, Content Editor can make the change but not publish.

I have a "Content Editor" role set up with where they can Create new documents, Edit a document, and save a document (Publish documents is unticked).

Does anyone know of a way to get this working?

    Thanks in advance.

It seems to me that what you want cannot be achieved if the editors can re-edit a published page, because it is a self-contradictory requirement. If an editor updates the homepage, it has to become unpublished until cleared by the supervisor. So your site has no published homepage in the meanwhile. sad

Maybe you could explore ways to to allow the eds to duplicate a published page, which the supervisor will substitute for the old version. Or more likely, swap in its content, so you don’t lose information through changing document IDs.
