Web user messaging system

I would like use a messaging system as the content manager messaging system but for web users.

After log in on his personal page, the web user is informed by the arrival of a message.
Thru a form he could send a response to another web user of the system

Does it exist an extra (a snippet) to implement something like this ?

I’m aware of an Add-on that does just this, but I don’t think they’ve polished it up for release yet. I think it was planned and the demo I saw was very slick.

Does it possible to know more about this add_on ? Can I take contact by PM with the author for instance ?

Ryan you are quite right, I shall have a word .. and see how releasable it is, Im assuming tho that to have a messaging or mail system, there has to be a web user profile system of some description, what are you using? web login PE?

Curious if there was any update on this? I have a project I’m about to work on shortly that needs this functionality.

Notify Users is a MODx backend module for emailing manager and/ or web users.

It enables a user with the administrator’s rights to send within a single step a notification to all users (or a subset) who have been granted manager or web access to the site. Optionally, it is possible to include some extra recipients by inputting their emails manually + include the sender as a blind carbon copy recipient with a single click.

The Notify Users module sends emails via the PHPMailer module that is a part of MODx core. PHPMailer is a highly flexible tool and can be quickly adjusted to a proper emailing method supported by the hosting server (see full article on emailing from within MODx site).

Great...this may be what I’m looking for...I’ll give it a test shortly. Question: can individual Web Users email other Web Users internally as opposed to all Web Users? This will be the biggest need I have. I’ll try it out and see if that’s what I need. Thanks again!
