Hi everybody! Just recently started looking for something a bit smaller and less pre-made than Drupal and am pretty excited about ModX. Ive read the book and some online documentation and I REALLY like where ModX is going but still have a few questions. Hope this is the right place to ask. Please keep in mind Im a designer not a programmer. I am pretty fearless though. Here goes:

Id like to have my clients be able to create documents without being able to select the template. Say for example I was doing a site for a hospital and wanted each doctor to have his/her own page specifying areas of expertise, contact info, etc. with several TVs... and I want a person from the hospital to be able to add new doctors. But I dont want that person to even have to think about "what template do I use?" because all they should do is add/remove doctors. My first guess was that I could do something with user groups/perms and resorce groups and Ive been trying but dont seem to understand the system well enough.

Also Id like to know if Ditto can create select dropowns that will allow site visitors to filter dynamically a list of items. Heres a quick Drupal example:

Are there ways of having several documents dynamically share the same template without having to assign it to each one? I seem to remember having seen somewhere that there is at least some kind of add-on that makes templates hereditary through the document site structure... Am I correct? Anybody know the name of it? Are there other methods?
Thanks very much! If I start seriously getting into ModX I think I just may end up helping you guys push the project forward however I can. Great projects deserve some dedication!
