    Hi,

I would like to create a site for ranking companies.

    here is what I need:

    - star rating
    - comments approved by admin through email
    - submit a new Company [ Fields: Name, Description, Website]. The admin receives an email and a document is created if he clicks a link.

I’m sure there are lots of snippets to do this but maybe somebody knows the best of them.

    Thank You

Did you look through the repository? I seem to remember seeing a star rating in there... remembering the right search term is golden...

        Yep

I found it and it works. Unfortunately I need reviews. They go like:

        1.rate different features
        2.add review/comment

So somehow I would have to make that the star rating is applied when you post a comment with Jot.
For now wordpress has those functionality so probably I will stick with it.

Maybe in the future I will have some time to create one for modx.

          - star rating
          - comments approved by admin through email
          - submit a new Company [ Fields: Name, Description, Website]. The admin receives an email and a document is created if he clicks a link.
          1/ submit a new Company
          - create a form, store the company data into a "proposedCompany" table
          - alert the admin
          - If accepted by admin, from the "proposedCompany" table generate a new company document with a template which allow comment and rating

          2/ display companies
Use Ditto on the company container
Use Jot. Add a Jot comment part embedded in the ditto company template
Use AnythingRating. Add an AnythingRating part embedded in the comment template

That’s all! ... but it doesn’t work for only one reason >:(

In fact If I understand your need, each person who leaves a comment shoud rate the company. So, as AnythingRating need an id to be linked with the comment, you need to have the id of the comment before the comment is accepted by the admin ... huh

I have done the same thing for a library. Each person could submit a book, and when they submit the book they give their opinion about the book. Is it on track, but not finalized on this last point by lack of time.

If you find an elegant trick to solve this, I am interested by wink
