Strange Problem!

I am using a background sprites image for a tabbed navigation.
It worked okay before I ported it into MODx.

Now the images only shows when I use the Firefox developer extension’s CSS edit function!
As soon as I close the edit mode, the image vanishes!

I am using it with jquery and some extra javascript. The javascript works but the images don’t show without invoking the developer edit mode!!

I have put the sprite into assets/images folder and call it like so:

Are you using Wayfinder?

What version of MODx? - QuickEdit (mootools) can conflict with jQuery if the latter is not used in no-conflict mode

Does it work in other browsers?

Have you checked if it works when you are not logged into the manager?

Yes, I am using Wayfinder.
MODx 1.0 Evolution
Tried some no-conflict solutions. Does not help. I am not sure if I did that right?
Does not work in other browsers also.
Logged out, still does not work.

Oh! And I am using jquery.tools 1.1.0 . I don’t know if this makes any difference.

Does it work without the js? or it needs the js to work as a sprite?

A path issue/conflict maybe? Did you try disabling the js to see if it worked?

Yes. I had also tried disabling js. Nothing showed up.

It could be the base url too... I’ve noticed inconsistent behavior across browsers when using any CMS that relies on apache’s rewrite module for URL mapping (not just MODx).

If you add that base tag to your document head, and then try viewing the pages in a separate browser (not the one you’re using to log into the manager), what happens?
