You have no permissions to create the folder

Hi All,

Appreciate your help.

1. Im getting the following message when trying to create a folder in modx "You have no permissions to create the folder"

> Im logged in as admin, and from the text editor, I highlight my text
> select the "insert / edit link" button
> from dialog box I select the "browse button" from the LINK URL field
> from the FCKEditor dialog, I select "Create new folder", enter me folder name
> ERROR Message appears "You have no permissions to create the folder"

Also - we have 2 modx sites, on our server - one is a test site the other is our proper site.. I dont the above error from our test site.

Thanks
Touls

Check your file permissions on the assets/files directory.

thanks for the response, and please excuse the dumb question,

but are you referring to "assets/files directory" on my server ? and if so, what setting should it be

Yes, I am referring to the filesystem directory. Check the permissions on the one that works and make sure they are the same. The directory itself needs to be writable (although you should not have been able to install if it weren’t).

Since you have another website on the same server that works as expected, I would just see what is different about them that would cause this one to not work and that one to work.
