Bit of a strange one this, apologies -

Bit of background - I started building a ModX site for my friend but was unable to complete it, so he handed it over to some other developers. When I set the site up originally, I set it to use friendly urls, but the developers seem to have turned this off. Don’t know if that is useful, but might be.

Anyway now the urls follow the index.php?id={number}. Entering an invalid id returns the user to the homepage.

BUT entering anything like a friendly URL (eg /nopage) for some reason takes you to an old test template I set up years ago, which doesn’t even appear to be in the CMS anymore.

The error page is set to be 7, which should be the real 404 page - but you are never taken to this page.

    Look, here’s the site - http://www.localism.org.uk/

Here is the apparently non-existent page you get redirected to if you enter an incorrect friendly URL - http://www.localism.org.uk/nopage

Any ideas why this is happening?

Is document 7 published? If friendly URLs are turned off, is the .htaccess file still there, doing the rewrites?
