    Hello all,

We have a MODx site that has been running for over a year now. Originally we had to have SEF urls turned off but in the last few months we’ve found that we no longer need this to be the case anymore. Is it possible to convert the site over to SEF URLs? If so what steps need to happen?

    • The site does have over 300 pages already existing. And since SEF URLs has been turned off all of these pages don’t have aliases in the database.

    • Also we will have to adjust the .htaccess file
    • Anything else?

    Other thoughts?

    Thanks

      1) rename ht.access to .htaccess
      2) turn on FURLs
      3) there is no 3!

Now maintaining the Search Engine indexes is another issue. You might want to investigate the SEO Strict URLs plugin and the URL History plugin as you make updates to make sure things get 301d properly.
