I think I’ve found the perfect CMS to finally move my site into. However i need some basic features and I was unable to find it yet.
What I need, it’s a blog (i know MODX has ditto) with gravatars on the comments, captcha, etc. Some of this features come by default in most systems and I didn’t found it yet on MODX. Maybe this is a really noob question, but if someone point me the right direction I would be very grateful.

Comments in MODx are made in Jot which is part of the install package with MODx. There is Captcha support in Jot. There is also a Gravatars addon that us supposed to allow the use of Gravatars: http://modxcms.com/gravatar-1.0-1535.html.

I’ve not personally tried it but I’ve seen it in action.

      Cheers,

Paulo_C: There is a blog tutorial in the Wiki that may help. Another good way to get a jump start is to install the Demo site and go through the coding to understand how it was built. It features a working blog so it may help.

Basically you need a combination of snippets to put together a blog. Ditto is used to display or index your blog and Jot is used for commenting, you may use Reflect to add an archive. You also have the option of adding a front-end publishing method using NewsPublisher or keep it all in the manager (my preference).

You will also want to understand setting up a TV (Template Variable aka: Custom Field) for including "tags" and content that may be specific to your design like a image/thumb for the post. There is a good screencast on tagging using Ditto in the Ditto support site (as well as many other demos): http://ditto.modxcms.com/

Thank you both for the replies. I will study MODX and Ditto to see what i can do with them.
