How - to manage multi websites with 1 modx instance?

Is it possible to use one modx instance to manage multiple websites?

I ave multiple distinctly different websites, on different URLs. Is it possible to manage them all from within a single modx instance so our content editors can simply login once and update/create for multiple websites.

I have earched the modx site and wiki and google but not coming up with anything.

Help greatly appreciated!
Looking forward to getting involved with the community here if this turns out to be the software I truly hope and think it is!

Ashley

You might want to look at Revolution (MODx 2.0), which is currently still in beta, but being used for production by several people.

Then there is this

Hi,

...and for MODx 0.9.6.3 there’s this solution/workaround:

Thank you both, the reports that MODx has a healthy and helpful community is not wrong!

I’ll try both, starting with Revolution (better to be forward compatible if possible).

Do you know of any issues with installing Revolution beta3 on:
Microsoft Windows server 2003 R2,
Standard x64 Edition – Service pack 2
IIS 6.0
PHP 5.2.8
MySQL 5.0.51a-community-nt
MySQL client version 5.0.45
phpMyAdmin 2.11.5.1
MEMORY - HIGH [using servers for DAM too!]
TIMEOUT not an issue per above

Wanting to use http://iirf.codeplex.com/ as it is free and I will need friendly SEO URLs etc.
Have you any experience or recommendations for using this on IIS?

FYI we have complete control over the servers, root level access.

Thanks
Ashley

You might want to post to the IIS forum http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/board,220.0.html

The IIS stuff should be fine, though I’m not familiar with the permission systems involved. However, beware of this:

MySQL 5.0.51a-community-nt
MySQL client version 5.0.45

You have a) have a buggy version of MySQL server (5.0.51a has some nasty bugs with GROUP BY and SORT BY that can cause sorting issues), and b) do not have a MySQL client version which matches your MySQL server version. This latter issue can definitely cause problems in some cases, but your mileage may vary.
