    hello everybody,

I am quite new to all this here but saw MODx in action and i like the possibilities it offers.

Now I have already some Web pages on the web but what I would like now to do is simply to migrate those to MODx. As far as i understand I can not do this off line but have to do it on line. (With off line i am referring to to change the pages in my Dreamweaver like I want them and then to load up.)

So my situation is the following:

i have a web page in page which should be in regular time frame (every two weeks) receive new content which is places by different users. it will be easier for me to give them an account and the template where they have to put the photos in and I do not need to spend a couple of hours for this.

    So how to do it?

I would like to leave my pages up and running during I am migrating. So i was thinking of installing MODx in an own folder on the ftp (e.g. MODx) and then do the work of creating the templates and so on in there.

    help me out guys. Pleasssseeee

        Here are some good instructions:
        http://bobsguides.com/porting-your-site-to-modx.html

        I would clarify point 2 though...instead of
        2. Paste the code from the body section of your home page into the new template’s body section (later, you’ll remove the stuff that doesn’t belong there).

        I would say
View the source of an existing page and copy and paste it (the html) into the template’s body section.
