Hi guys...
Tried googling this issue, and all I found was a phx workaround for the question. Using Phx:phpThumb - This is not really ideal for me tho, as the php script would still need to read large files to generate a thumb on the fly?!
Q: Is there a way to scale and compress images that are uploaded via an "Image" TV.
The reason I ask is that clients will always try and upload large full quality jpg’s etc. Rather than simply set the upload max and force them to conform (which they wont) it would be nice if it was possible to configure the Image TV to apply compression and scaling, discarding the old image and saving a perfect image in the Images folder?
In the past I have had custom modules that use phpThumb to do the above.
It would be great if this functionality could be included with the TV upload. Anyone found another workaround?
Thanks guys...
J
Yes, this is possible by creating a plugin. I haven’t done it yet but I also need it for a project, so I’ll post the code when I get to it (might be 4 months though...). If anyone else has created a plugin for this already, please do share!
