    Just to be perfectly clear:

The entry I think you mean reads

    /home/content/l/i/m/limmudla/html/modx/

I would either change modx to the new folder name, or remove the segment entirely if I move to the root. Correct?

The Upgrade install doesn’t do anything to the configuration’s settings for file paths and URLs, although there’s no reason why it couldn’t.

      Thanks, I stand corrected. smiley

:D Sorry, I just couldn’t help myself (the double entendre is killing me!)

OK, back to serious business: I think your server information might be helpful in order to get specific help, i.e. php, apache, mysql version, etc.

            cheers/k

Uh oh laugh didnt see that double entendre thingy!!!

              Apache version: Apache/2.0.52 (CentOS)
              Mysql version: 5.0.24a
              ...what else?

Anyway, to describe the problem even further, there is a peculiar thing happening...So I tried doing a new install on the root of the same server and i couldnt get past the database test section...Nothin happens, no error, no nothing!! But if I put the files in a sub-directory it works like magic (wierd!)

I have seen some reviews on this problem but I just can’t seem to make sense of it...any ideas what the problem might be?Need any more details?

I think though that MODX TOTALLY ROCKS!!!! smiley

Something odd in an .htaccess file in the root? A variation in the URL (www vs no www or something similar)?

it appears similar issues have been reported on these posts...with no CLEAR resolve...

Both posts describe the problem I’m having, but what they’re not clear on is the steps are to solve the issue...

                  help :’(

Did you have FURLs on before moving the site? If so, try turning them off using PhpMyAdmin and renaming .htacces to ht.access.
