Is there a calendar plugin or recommendation that I could use with MODx? I’m building a school website and they need to list events, sports, etc

    Thanks

How did you use Ditto for a calendar - just wrote events as blog postings? Do you have an example I could see?

I made a specific template with several template variables in it. One are of the type: date and with the widget: Unixtime. And one are with a Dropdown list menu with values there are corresponding with the event types.

In the Ditto snippet I make a filter by the eventtypes, and sort by the unixtime.

For me this solution are better in terms of usability, but a alternative way to do it are: http://modxcms.com/extras/package/99

Sorry - forgot to give you a example:

            Something like this:

            [[Ditto? &depth=`0` &parents=`3,22,19,38,73,` &tpl=`tpl-something` &dateSource=`tv-date` &dateFormat=`%d.%m.%Y` &sortBy=`tv-date` &sortDir=`ASC` &debug=`0` &showPublishedOnly=`1` &noResults=`No events found` &filter=`template,6,1` !]]

The filter rules are explained here: http://ditto.modxcms.com/files/snippet-ditto-php.html#filter

Thanks for that example - but I was referring to a live example (a site that uses it)
              Thanks for your help

I’m sorry, but a the moment I can’t, because the pages are running on a intranet.

But the output are in reality just a table with the sorted eventdate in each row, with information about eventname, place, a link to the page with more information about the specific event etc.

If you want a calendar view like the datepicker in MODx (without the extra functionality) I’ll think that DittoCal are the solution.

I’ve been using Chuck Truck’s new calendar snippet...works really nicely and easy to customize and really easy for the client to update. You can see the demo site here:

                    http://www.quantum-cmg.com/demos/

                    Download it here:

                    http://github.com/chucktrukk/prowebscape-calendar/tree/master

I’ve set it up in a few sites and it’s worked really nicely. The client can update the calendar in their Gmail Calendar account, not in MODx.
