accessing request variables

I have a url that looks like this http://www.domain.com/page.html?variable=variablecontent

I can’t seem to use $_GET[’variable’] / $_REQUEST[’variable’] to access it.

What am I doing wrong?

How exactly are you trying to access it?

In basic php, if I submit a form by post, I can access post variables via $_POST[’variable’].

If I want to test if a submit button is pressed, I can write:

if (isset($_POST[’nameOfSubmitButton’])) {
....
}

If I put that code in a snippet, modx doesn’t recognize the code and skips over it. How can I acess the post and get variables in modx?

Also be aware that you need to output the results of your snippet. That’s why I asked exactly how you are accessing the REQUEST; it would help if you posted the snippet code and the snippet call.
