I’m trying to follow the Friendly URL Guide - it shows this line change
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA] into RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /folder/index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA]
to be changed but I don’t see it in the file.
I followed the video and changed these settings
    #RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} .
    #RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.example-domain-please-change\.com [NC]
    #RewriteRule (.*) http://www.example-domain-please-change.com/$1 [R=301,L]

    to
    #RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} .
    #RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.massflyfishing\.com [NC]
    #RewriteRule (.*) http://www.massflyfishing.com/$1 [R=301,L]

I want to have pages show with .html extension
The problem is that my MODx install is not in the root - it’s www.massflyfishing.com/cms and when I change the access file the site doesn’t work
Should I append /cms or just move the MODx install to the root to get correct urls?
    Thanks

What version of MODx are you using? The .htaccess file now has a line RewriteBase /

Just edit that line to show the directory: RewriteBase /cms

Got it to work. For anyone stuck try uncommenting the line above RewriteEngine On:
          This:
          #Options +FollowSymlinks
          RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /cms(this would be your MODx folder)

          to this:
          Options +FollowSymlinks
          RewriteEngine On
          RewriteBase /cms

Hope this helps - it took me a while to figure it out. BTW - it states it write in the .htaccess file so fools like me don’t waste a lot of time troubleshooting tongue

That line is uncommented by default now; it doesn’t hurt anything whether it’s needed or not.
