Ok I clicked install and got a blank white screen!

I found a troubleshooting page and it says:

Make sure your ’memory_limit’ setting in php.ini is set to at least 64M.

I’m installing the Traditional Revolution Download and there is no php.ini

    Can someone help please?

    Thanks.-

php.ini is part of your server configuration, not part of MODx.

Wow thank you very much for the quick reply.

Sorry if my questions are a bit silly as you might have noticed already I’m not really pro at this, I actually more of a novice.

I will look into that php.ini thing then.

        Thanks.-

Not silly. I still remember when I had two floppy drives and no hard drive, and couldn’t figure out what a "data disk" was when my bookkeeping software asked me to put it in drive B.

Sorry me again, ok luckily I’m my own sistem admin since I have a VPS, so I have acces to my PHP configuration file and changed it succesfully to 64MB.

I’ve retried the installation and keep getting a blank white screen.

            What gives?

Thank you kindly for the great help.

I would suggest using 0963 if you like.

Thats easier to get grip on, since the Revolution is still in beta stages.

Thank you zi, I was just about to do as you sugested but I had a breakthrough and I’ll post what it was in case any other newbies like me have the same problem.

Ok so the first time I had the blank screen it was because of that php.ini thing (if you don’t have access to your php installation files, ask your hosting provider)

Then I kept getting the blank screen... it was because I was letting the set up create the database, so instead I created it myself (if you don’t know how, try phpmyadmin it’s a great tool)

Well hope this helps anybody out there (I’m sure I’m not the only rookie wink

                Cheers.-
