    Hi,

I am working on this project: http://www.newchaptermedia.com/index.php?id=50 and I am trying to figure out how to change the order of the books. I can’t figure it out so perhaps anyone here can help me?

    Let me know,

You could use the Doc Manager module that comes with MODx. You can find it under the Modules>Doc Manager>Sort Menu Items tab in the manager.

To get an arbitrary order then using the menu index and document manager to be able to quickly resort is the answer.

However if you want you can use a rule such as alphabetic on page title, most recent published date, date added etc
using the &sortBy and &sortOrder in your Ditto call.

Ok I got the Doc Manager and I changed the order on the backend but it didn’t show on the front end. Anyone has more advice on how to do this?

          Thanks in advance,

If you are using Ditto to list the books, and have set the menu index on the pages to the order you want, you tell Ditto to sort by menuindex using the &orderBy parameter
            [!Ditto? ... &orderBy=`menuindex ASC` ...!]
(NB this is Ditto 2.1’s standard ordering parameter. You’ll see plenty of references to the snippet’s old parameters &sortBy and &sortDir, which also still work).
