    Good Morning,

would you please recommend me different MODx commercial company that can offer me one efficient hosting for my web site?

I will be updating my web site with MODx until December, and I need to begin in January 2009, on line.

    Best Regards,

I use Bluehost (http://www.bluehost.com) and they have a One-Click modx installer, by Simple Scripts. Makes the process pretty painless.

I’m always a fan of getting a VPS or dedicated server if you possibly can. If you do choose to go the shared route it’d be great if you could in fact use our Bluehost affiliate link which will be on the new marketing site we’ve been working so hard to complete: http://www.bluehost.com/track/modx/partnerspage

The guy that created Simple Scripts works with Bluehost and it’s a great super-fast way to get modx installed.

Oh, this is just too funny.

I’ve been using Bluehost for some, but not all projects for a little while -- a client actually gave me the high sign on this -- and have been very happy with on non-MODx installations, but never tried a MODx site there until recently. I’d been recommending a local host for most of my clients, but quality has begun to suffer badly, so....

I’ve recently put two new clients on Bluehost using MODx. The funny part is, until I read this thread, I never noticed the one-click installs. Ah, well, still no big deal to install the "traditional" way, or even via migration from my local development server.

Anyway -- I’ve been rather impressed with Bluehost. For a commodity-priced host, they’ve had very, very good service, including manually setting up semi-convoluted DNS entries for clients that have their own Exchange servers, VPN servers, etc. Not at all what I’d expected for support at that price. Good stuff. Glad to see the other endorsements here.

I was using shared hosting for my modx sites but I ended up going with my own dedicated server. I only have 8 sites on my server so it’s nice and fast and plenty room for more sites. It does cost for a dedicated server but I won’t go back to shared hosting regardless of reviews. The auto install script sounds nice though! Be nice to have that on my dedicated server.

I created a hosting based modx site and integrated WHMCS somewhat in to the site and it’s several seconds faster than 3 shared hosting companies I have used. As Ryan said, dedicated or VPS if you can go with it or even see if you can find someone like myself who has plenty room on a dedicated server so you still get top quality speeds etc.

I have several MODx sites at Bluehost (and some at Lunarpages as well) and have never had a problem with any of them.

My sites at Bluehost were installed before they had the SimpleScripts install so I haven’t had a chance to try that.

                Hi,

thanks for the recomendation, but how may I compare different options as suggest and other found in the internet:

                http://www.siteground.com/modx-hosting.htm
                http://www.maiahost.com/cms/MODx_Hosting.html

                http://www.hostcolor.com/webhosting/cmshosting/modx-hosting
                http://www.oxxus.net/modx-hosting.htm

what is the main difference for that MODx can work better and I can choise the best option for MODx Hosting.

                thks,

I would look first at hosting services that already host MODx sites successfully as reported here in a number of threads.
