I have a site i have been working on locally. It is over 150 pages in multiple languages. The site works fine locally.

I am now trying to setup this site online. The problem is that I cannot import the database in phpmyadmin. The SQL file is 1.3mb which is well within the limits, but on my first attempt it timed out and now whether i try to upload the SQL or is I try to run its contents I get the following:

    Error

    SQL query:

    # --------------------------------------------------------
    #
    # Table structure for table `presspointproof_ep_translation`
    #
    CREATE TABLE `presspointproof_ep_translation` (
    `idPoll` int( 10 ) unsigned NOT NULL ,
    `idChoice` int( 10 ) unsigned NOT NULL DEFAULT '0',
    `idLang` int( 10 ) unsigned NOT NULL ,
    `TextValue` varchar( 2048 ) NOT NULL ,
    PRIMARY KEY ( `idChoice` , `idLang` , `idPoll` ) USING BTREE
    ) ENGINE = InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET = utf8;

    MySQL said: Documentation
#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'USING BTREE
    ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8' at line 6

This doesn’t really mean anything to me so i’m hoping one of you guys will be able to help

    Thanks

I’ve had similar troubles before, but am no expert by any means.

For me, the use of engine/type was restrictive due to the version of MySQL I was using. Some google searching might be a good thing there, or take a look at the docs. Also, check that InnoDB is supported.

I remember reading somewhere that there was a bug with that anyway. Perhaps, if all tables are the same type, set the database default to innodb and then remove the engine statement (I might be leading you down the garden path here...).

For me, although I doubt it’s the same problem, swapping ENGINE= for TYPE= did the trick.

I think it’s clear that I’m just stabbing in the dark, but perhaps they’ll give you some ideas to research!
