Hi guys. I’ve got this warning come up whenever I save changes on the configuration page but not sure exactly what to do about it. The images are in the correct place and the links to them in the templates are correct also so I’m not entirely sure what it is referring to. Any ideas?

"One or more configuration details didn’t check out OK:

Configuration warning: ’Images directory not writable’

    What does this mean?
The images directory isn’t writable, or doesn’t exist. This means the Image Manager functions in the editor will not work!"

    Thanks!

The permissions on your local filesystem for that directory won’t let apache/iis write to them.

Sorry, I’m kind of new to all this. What does that mean exactly because the images are there being previewed on the web page?

You need to make the images folder writable so that the script can edit the image data...this will not affect if the images are viewable or not, it is about letting php alter the image code and then write the new data to the host.

In UNIX you can do this with your FTP application...not sure abut in IIS.

Here is some info on folder/file permissions:

Could this have something to do with the fact that I changed the name of the images folder to pics? As my CSS had already been written, all the links to the images directed to pics so I just changed the name to make things easier for myself.

That would be why. Do a bulk find/replace in your css to point to the right place.
