Can’t believe I’m posting this. I have 20 MODx sites running on the same server (Hostgator) All run 9.6.3. I’m creating a new site and I can’t get the SEF URLs to work. I pulled the .htaccess file from one site where everything is fine and it’s exactly the same. In fact, I used that file and they still are not working. All of the settings are the same in the manager as well. All sites have MODx in the root folder. Anyone have any ideas?
Oh, yeah, I’ve been through a lot of the info in the forums and can’t get anywhere.

Sounds like they’ve got you on a new server with slightly different configuration. Have you pinged their tech support about why mod_rewrite doesn’t seem to be working?

What exactly do you mean by "not working"? 500 errors? 404 page not found errors?
Ryan
Thanks. I did just send them a note.
Susan
Sorry, 404 error.

If your new site is on a different physical server, it may need the Options +FollowSymlinks line uncommented.
Did have an effect, Susan.

Ah. I’ve never had any luck with those, although I seem to recall somebody saying how to get them to work...
Susan
It was probably me (Centennial AIrport site). It’s just been so long I don’t remember. The old htaccess file was different and (if I recall) there was one place where the change seemed obvious.
