    Hi,

We installed modx for a client last year but now need to find the mail settings entered during the install. Ideally I’m seeking to find the email address and settings used to post emails so that I can track an email problem with our client’s hosting provider.

I’ve looked in the System configurations but the email address used within the ’User’ tab seems to only relate to emails posted for user details and not mail settings. Likewise I’ve also looked in the config.php file but couldn’t see anything related to email.

    Any help very welcome.

    Regards,

    Martin

MODx uses the standard PHP mail() function. The email address in the Configuration is the one used by default (it’s in the system_settings table, the ’emailsender’ field). Most snippets and other mailing scripts use the included class.phpmailer.php class, in the manager/includes/controls folder. These snippets usually use the mail() function also, but can be edited to use phpmailer’s SMTP settings.
