Hi guys,
I have successfully ported my site from localhost to a hosted server. But on my localhost I have captcha turned on. My hosted account doesn’t and as such I cannot login to the manager on my hosted site. Can some one point me in the right direction.
-Thanks
The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity.

You can go into the database using your domain’s database client (usually phpMyAdmin) and in the system_settings table set use_captcha to 0.

For future reference, whenever I move a site I always take a few preliminary steps:
Backup everything.
Clear the site cache.
Clear the System Events and Manager Actions (from the Tools menu).
Turn off friendly URLs.
Turn off using Captcha.
Upload the site and update the database.
Upload the Install folder and run the installer in Upgrade mode; clear all of the options for installing plugins and snippets and stuff.
Fix the manager/includes/config.inc.php file to have the info for the new database.
Log in to the Manager, run the Configuration and fix the paths for the resource browser in the Interface and Features tab and for the file manager in the File Manager tab.
Once I’m sure everything works, turn on Friendly URLs and Captcha.
