Yesterday I delivered a new modx project to its new owner.
It was a relatively small project, your average mom’s and pop’s service provider company who wanted a fresh look for 2009.

Now I’ve been playing with modx for a while now and made several sites using it, but only recently got into the beauty of customizing the manager
for making the day-to-day management of the content a bit easier for the less techi rep.
The company have 3 ’sections’ in the site where for each I have it’s own forms and adding Project/Client/Team Member is simply a process of filling up a simple form. and the result cake looks really sleek IMHO.

Anyway, I’m sure you all know why modx rock, but the reason I’m writing this is just to say thank you for all who made it so possible and the forum people for their great support.

The responses I got from the client were "This is like a real software", "Now I can work on the site", "Wait and see what I’m going to make out of it" , "This is totally different than what we had" etc.

simply joy to hear all those warm words from a client. and it’s all thanks to modx and you guys that bother reading this useless post. without you I was d00med long time ago smiley so thanks once more!

Did you do this with ManagerManager or custom plugins/modules?

Lots of manager manager tweakies and also Shanes useful tip from another post on how to get the direct link for new docs.
So now as soon as they enter the manager they see a nice table with links to all what they need to do day to day.

Simple stuff, adding new tabs, moving fields to tab, rename pagetitle etc.

Wish I had some hidden plugins to share with you all laugh

Its funny you say that because my answer to her was that this IS A REAL SOFTWARE.

I think that most people simply don’t know whats in it. this lady for example, they used to have static html site. updating pics was FTP down, edits, FTP up. No wonder they pics are from 2001. Suddenly she’s getting Maxigallery to work with... Coming from that point of view I can see why she described modx as real software. She even compared it to Quickbooks when she saw the permissions tab for user roles. IMHO most people that aren’t geeks or web savvy see the web pretty static. my girlfriend don’t even understand me if I tell her ’google it’ you know smiley

In my real life job I use mostly web based software. it’s also a lot easier installing SugarCRM than installing ACT! and it runs better smiley
