I’ve never used installed / used MODx before and I’m having some issues getting it installed - hoping someone can help!

I’ve got a machine running Server2003 and IIS 6, MySQL is installed and working and PHP is configured. As I run through the installation wizard, all goes well with the pre-req’s:

Setup has carried out a number of checks to see if everything’s ready to start the setup.

    Checking PHP version: OK!

Checking if Register_Globals is off: OK!

Checking if sessions are properly configured: OK!

Checking if assets/cache directory exists: OK!

Checking if assets/cache directory is writable: OK!

Checking if assets/cache/siteCache.idx.php file is writable: OK!

Checking if assets/cache/sitePublishing.idx.php file is writable: OK!

Checking if assets/images directory exists: OK!

Checking if assets/images directory is writable: OK!

Checking if assets/export directory exists: OK!

Checking if assets/export directory is writable: OK!

Checking if manager/includes/config.inc.php exists and is writable: OK!

Creating connection to the database: OK!

Checking MySQL version: OK! Your MySQL version is: 5.0.83-community-nt

Checking MySQL for strict sql_mode: OK!

But on the following page after clicking install, I get the following results:

    Cannot open file (../assets/cache/siteCache.idx.php)

The file it claims it can’t open (siteCache.idx.php) is definitely there and accessible - this is as far as installation gets and I’m now a little stuck. I’m sure it’s something really obvious I’ve missed - Ideas anyone?

Make sure siteCache.idx.php has the right permissions perhaps

      Just a guess

It has read, write and excecute scripts enabled on the assets directory, so I don’t think that’s the issue.

But the siteCache.idx.php file itself may not be writable. Make it 644 or 666 depending on the way your server is running.
