Format TV as a number - dollar amount - Help

Currently I have a TV text field setup to hold a price for a particular product and using Ditto to create my listings. I’d like for this field, the output, to be formatted as a dollar amount so that it’s easier for my client to input the figure.

So for example, if my client enters 2500 into the field, I’d like the output to be formatted as $2,500

Is this possible? If so, how do I go about accomplishing this.

Well the only thing missing would be the comma . . .

I thin have seen a number formating PHx modifier and/or snippet around. If not then you need to use some PHP to format the number or use PHP’s handy number_format function.

This should work as a snippet:

Then call it [!snippetName? &tv=`tvName`!]. It should return the formatted number with 2 decimal points and if no value it should return 0.00.

This is untested but should get you started.

Exactly, quick question - new to PHx - the code for the price_format I’m assuming I would setup as a new snippet?
