Hi there,
I’m using Wayfinder to list out sub-navigation.
The problem is that some of the items in the subnavigation are just links to other sections fo the website.
This is usually not a problem if the navigation is not image based. If it is I use a TV to store the image for the navigation.
Because there are no TV’s for weblinks....I have to add a dummy page with a javascript redirect to the appropriate content. This works however has the obvious usability issue with the back button now being disabled due to the JS redirect.
Is there any way around this without witting my own snippet to deal with the redirects separately?
- On a completely separate note, can some recommend a shopping cart solution that is easy to template. I guess i’m looking for the ease of MODx templating but with the bells and whistles of a shopping cart bolted on? Have looked at Magento, and the templating system is far from easy...
Thanks in advance...

What version of MODx are you using? As far as I know, in more recent versions you can assign a template to a weblink, so you can use TVs with them.

Not MODx native, but FoxyCart.

I like Foxy...I really do....but the problem is the catalogue on the MODx side.
If you got pages representing products with tons of TV’s to form attributes...adding new "products" becomes a nightmare, and the manager will be hard to use due to the number of pages in the tree view?
There’s a modx cart being developed by a community member but that’s still in Alpha so probably is not helpful to you. In that cart, products are stored in a db. I can’t seem to fing the link atm...
