    Hey all,

Total MODx beginner here. And, sadly, not the worlds foremost coder either. Which leaves me feeling a bit like the horses have run away with the cart at the moment.

I have a single page site for a computer illiterate client.  On this page I will have two editable content fields for use with QuickEdit.

I have created a TV for RT input.  When inserting the code into the template and running preview though, no text appears in that field on the page.  It DOES show correctly in the QuickEditor content selector, showing the correct default text and formatting of said text.

I have looked all over for the correct way to code this in but with no love.  I would use the basic [*content*] if I didn’t have two independent areas to work with.

I can see that once I get it down MODx is going to be my new best friend... as frustrating as this issue is, my main frustration remains the lack of coherent, centralized documentation/tutorials. (I admit I am a "lead by the hand" learner the first time through anything)

Apologies if this is redundant... I found a lot of of stuff whose answers hit all around but just didn’t work with my low end coder experience... so a code example would be helpful.

    :)Cass

You can still use the content field for one of your fields, and a TV for the other one. Then in your template just put [*#content*] and [*#yourTV*] to display the two.

If you really prefer to use two TVs and skip the content field altogether, there is a plugin to hide the main content field. Just make sure you add the # to the snippet tags to make the TVs available for editing in QuickEdit.

As far as what show in preview or not, I’ve never actually used that; I prefer to have my page open on the site, since preview sometimes doesn’t really reflect the full processing used to generate the actual page.

        Got it...

And figured out my own stupidity as well I think... one of those... "sleep on it" Ah HAH! moments that are my trademark. I was trying for simple naming and using labels I shouldn’t have.. at least I think that was the issue. LOL

Content + TV= perfection. Now on to other exploring... like popup windows. LOL

This really is an amazing product and I appreciate everyone who mods/tutorials/wikis it...
