    Hi there,

    Stupid title....simple question.
Anyone think that MODx (off the shelf so to speak) is not the best choice for a pure e-commerce site?
I know foxy and Treasure Chest can get you there, but I fear I may run into problems if the product catalogue becomes huge?

Can anyone suggest a good heavily templatable open source ecommerce solution in php?
I’m looking into Zencart, but have heard rumours the templating system can be a nightmare?

    Thanks in advance.,

    J

Right now MODx isn’t at all great for this though there seems to be some development here: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php?topic=34701.0. I’m really looking forward to this as a possible solution as MODx is fabulous otherwise.

I find Treasure Chest an extreme pain to use but am going to try the FoxyCart integration.

You might want to try Prestashop (http://www.prestashop.com). It uses Smarty for templates so it’s some work.
