Just started using modx over the last few days - I happened to change the language encoding from UTF-8 to UTF-7 and saved... Now the message "Please wait while MODx loads the page" is stuck on the page. There were no errors reported back to the browser when saving - everything else seems to be working well - I am running version 0.9.6.3. I’m guessing the save action was done a while ago and there’s some kind of "dirty bit" file or db record that needs to be flipped somewhere. Can someone direct me to the right direction?

    Thanks,

Magically, its working again. It wasn’t browser-specific as I could reproduce it across Firefox and Safari on Mac OS 10.4 and it was it this state for almost 24 hours. I started trying random junk - re-uploaded the manager directory, went into SQL and set the language setting back to UTF-8, neither of which seemed to work. Oddly enough, I did open up tamper data, found the service call being made while loading index.php (URL=http://www.lucivestudio.com/dev/modx/manager/index.php?a=1&f=nodes&indent=1&parent=0&expandAll=2), called it directly from a browser, and then, next thing I knew, the problem was cleared up. Huh. Perhaps something was getting hung up on an incomplete service call? Who knows. Anyway, its working again - I’ll try the tamper data trick again if it happens again.

So far, with this one exception, I think this is a very good product. Much more straight-forward than Joomla or Drupal.

It’s possible that you fixed it earlier but didn’t clear the MODx cache and browser cache and cookies -- always an important step when trying to solve things.
