Redirect web users away from manager user page

How do I redirect or show an error message on a page available only to a user logged into the manager with admin privileges?

Create a snippet that checks the SESSION. The value you want to look for is $_SESSION[’mgrRole’]=1 (or whatever role you want to filter for)

Actually, checking the $_SESSION variable directly is not the proper way to do this if you want to stay forward compatible with future MODx releases. This is very easily accomplished through the API though:

You can continue to use the SESSION for that in 0.9.6.3, though you can get it from $modx->getUserInfo() technically, but it’s not as efficient as using the other API functions or directly accessing it via SESSION. User roles are going away in Revo so preserving that functionality will not be possible anyway.
