It depends on how you're using it. The asterisk has always been correct for displaying the pagetitle of the current resource's parent.
If, OTOH, the tag is in a Tpl chunk being used by something like getResources, it would be the plus sign.

I see. But I think it should be better having a consistent tag expression.
