I have just started using MODX.. but have a database done in R on R which I want to use with MODX site I am developing. Does anyone have any tips or advice on merging these two environments. Is it easy to create forms for accessing the dbase created by R on R.

    Thanks

You have a DB in RoR or in MySQL?

modx is a PHP app, so it’s not going to speak Ruby. You could use xPDO to build a model of your RoR db however and access it that way most likely. I’ll let others who know better speak to that end, but it’s not 101-level stuff.

You may want to search the forums for posts about integrating MODx with Code Igniter, for example. It’s always the same problem: how do you allow for multiple development areas with clean integration? Usually the database is a good centerpoint for that... so long as Ruby does one thing to the database and MODx doesn’t interfere with that (or vice versa), this type of relationship should be possible, even thought it might be awkward.
