I am a complete newbie to MODx and my knowledge of back end stuff is very poor. I am having some problems with the installation process.
So far I have uploaded MODx to my host (Heart Internet) and created a MySQL database from my user panel. Having followed the on-screen instructions I have arrived at the screen where I need to enter my Server connection and login information (all ok because i get this message: Connection to host: passed - collations now available) but am having trouble with the Database information section. Basically I don’t know what to enter here. I have had a look at the database on the Control Panel by I can’t find any information that resembles this. If I leave the current options in place I get this message: Checking database: failed - could not create database.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as I am extremely excited about learning and using MODx.

With Heart Internet the Database Name & Database User are the same.
So you should have something like the attached image.
Thanks bunk58. I have literally just tried that and it worked. Just came on here to say don’t worry I sorted it.
