Hi,
We have been asked by a client to move an existing site over from a Linux host to a new Windows host as their hosting company has moved them onto a new server. I have obtained the _ENV["DOCUMENT_ROOT"] C:\Inetpub\vhosts\siteaddress.co.uk\httpdocs from Reports, System Info, phpInfo() and pasted this directly into the File Manager Path field in Configuration. The Resource Path has been set to C:\Inetpub\vhosts\siteaddress.co.uk\httpdocs\assets (and tried C:\Inetpub\vhosts\siteaddress.co.uk\httpdocs\assets\images) but when you access Resources, Manage Files, I get the message Directory Listing for :/ Access Denied.
Does anyone know if this due to file permissions not being set correctly on the Windows server? I have asked the hosting company to set the following permissions up but cannot tell if they have set them up correctly.
World Writeable
/assets/cache (and its files)
/assets/export
/assets/images
Read Only
manager/includes/config.inc.php
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and regards
Mark

It could be down to permissions a good IIS Setup will always have the best permissions for a website.
One thing I generally do when moving sites between different servers is to download the latest MODx version and run an upgrade this generally tends to detect new paths etc and fixes the issues for you.
Try running the Upgrader and if you still continue to get access denied messages check with the web host the NTFS Permisions for the domain ISUR Account should be Modify rights throughout.
Let us know how you get on.

Aaron is too polite to mention it but he offers excellent IIS MODx hosting with great support (in case your hosting service isn’t up to the task).

Thanks guys
I’ve been working hard at onesmarthost recently will be launching a MODx Demo site for people to play with MODx on IIS, along with a MODx Installer Icon in our Helm Control Panel which will install MODx for you with very little questions, and it will run the install script in the background for you

Thanks for your help guys, I finely got the site up and working. It was a combination of permissions and resource path problems!!
I got the host to set up a new account and installed MODx from scratch, that’s how we found the file permissions problems. I then looked at the File Manager path and it was set to C:/Inetpub/vhosts/siteaddress.co.uk/httpdocs not C:\Inetpub\vhosts\siteaddress.co.uk\httpdocs.
Thanks again
