Hi,
After nearly 2 months of reviewing and evaluating possible CMS candidates I’ve decided to make my recommendation to the rest of my team to go with modx for a new project. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you guys why ;-)
However, I can’t really figure out whether we should start off implementing & testing everything with the current stable release 0.9.6.3 and later on migrate to Revolution... or whether we should start off with the Revolution release so we don’t have to go through the trouble of adapting all our work to be compatible with the new release later on?
Is the current alpha version of revolution stable enough to use as a starting base for our work... or is it recommended that we migrate everything later on?
From what I’ve researched on the forum so far I understand that migrating from 0.9.6.3 to Revolution shouldn’t be too much of a hassle, however, are we going to miss out on some serious improvements we later on wished we had from the beginning of our project?
The project isn’t due to go live until the end of 2009, will Revolution even be recommended for a live environment by the end of the year?
Any advice is very much appreciated!

I would personally go with 0.9.6.3 as Revolution is still in Alpha there is still a lot of snippets, plugins etc that have not been modifie to work on it yet. I would stick with the 0.9.6 verion for a while still as you know that you will have a wide range of exsisting code to work with.
But this is just my opinion, the decission is up to you.

For end of 2009, I’d start with the latest SVN version of Revo w/o hesitation.

I would agree with rthrash unless you need some of the more exotic snippets for your site.
