Can we create a forum or message board in modx?

I’ve heard so much about blogging, but I’m wondering how one might go about setting it up so that web users can participate in a sort of message board. One of my clients requested this feature.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how I might go about doing this without using a third party forum application? It might be worth noting that the message board will not be public, so I’d never have to worry about it growing uncontrollably. It will always have only 30 or 40 users at most.

There is the SMF bridge out there to integrate SMF forum, but I personally never got it to work 100% but maybe just didn’t try hard enough.

Thanks a lot for the response! I’m going to look into this, although I suspect it’s going to be a little too much for the client. I really just wanted something simple where people could post messages, and other people could reply to them. Didn’t need all the functionality that comes with SMF.

Will definitely use it if that’s what I have to do, though.
