Hi all,
I recently got a simple (I thought so) task to do: I should define a TV with address data of the customer to be displayed an all pages. A TV because the editor want it to be editable from the FE (QuickEdit). So i tried this:
- I added a normal TV to the template. It is editable via QuickEdit (from the FE) but it’s content is depending on the site! Hmm, in case of changes I have to edit it on all pages... and if there are many... not a good idea at all
- I created a root page (folder) like I know it from TYPO3 and put all pages under this folder. I thought that now the editor can change the TV on that folder and it will be inheritet to all subpages (with @INHERIT). Yes it will inherit to all subpages, but know it’s not possible for the editor to use QuickEdit in the FE to edit the TV on the rootpage... Sure, because this rootpage is not displayed in the menue and the subpages are used in the navigation as the first level.
Does anyone know a useable solution for such things like global vars/tv’s? I really tried a lot things... Did I miss something essential in the manual? Or do I expect to much from QuickEdit an the Editor has to use the BE for some things to change...
