    Hello people,

Im working on MODx for 4 days now and all works fine. I can change lay-outs for all pages while using one template.
The problem is that I have a Welcome, Portfolio, Services and Contact page which all contain edittable content.
The Quickedit shows all TV’s or Snippets ( im not sure yet but it doesnt matter for what I need to know ) in one big list.

My question is: How can I sort this list so that I can click on WELCOME or PORTFOLIO or whatever to get the varibles I want to edit, instead of seeing this whole list ?

You all know how big this list can get when you have 5 different blocks of CSS positioned edittable content per site. How can I sort this, because it is nuts right now.

    Thanks in advance,

    Xander

I don’t exactly follow what you mean. Perhaps a screenshot showing what you want to achieve and how it is now would help.

I don’t think that quick edit follows the menuindex for sorting. In looking into this I think that the problem is that the rank field that QE is using for sorting is the one in the Site Template Variables table, but the rank that is used elsewhere (and is updated when sorting) is the one in the Site Template Variables Templates table.

The problem is not with QE, the problem is that the API call $modx->getTemplateVars returns the rank field from the wrong table (or the wrong table is being used for ranking).

Thanks Shane. daxander, there’s not a way to limit QuickEdit on a per-page basis, which I think is what you’re looking for, though I suppose you could create a specific template for each content type and limit the TVs on that template to only the ones you need to emulate what you’re looking to accomplish (I think).

Creating a template for every new site is not an option, because this means that the user will have to load the data for every new site.

My site loads [*sitecontent*’] into the body. This is a content switch which loads {{chunks}}.
So when I start I have a empty site, then I go to quickEdit and tell the [*sitecontent*] to load {{welcome_page}}.
Then the welcome page shows up between my HEADER and FOOTER of the site.

This way I can create TV’s per site and use the same template and CSS, and this gives me the freedom of creating nice websites that load fast.
So a different template is crazy thinking.

Now the problem is that QuickEdit shows all the TV’s in the list of all the sites. This is pointless, because some TV’s are not used on some pages.
And if I would use the [*#blabla*] notation, then the problem would be that it is a unrecognized HTML tag. My sites need to be valid, without errors and without warning(TidyHTML).

So who has got a soluttion ?
