I think I addicently over wrote the Modx start page, I deleted all the code and re-placed it all with my own html. Is there anyway to get this back the modx main start basic main page without installing it all again?

I’m assuming you mean the content field of the home page document from the original install.
There’s probably an easier way, but you could do a separate install of MODx (say, in a subdirectory or on localhost) and just cut and paste the code from the home page into your site’s home page document, then delete the separate install.
