    Hi!
    I was wondering... how can I display some latest news in a slider (jQuery perhaps)? Is anybody done this till now (I can’t imagine that no one did this).

    The news itself should have:
    - background image (created with TV)
    - [*pagetile*] on black surface with 70% overlay/opacity
    - the pagetitle should be a link to the news itself
    - introtext (option)
    This would be achieved with one TPL, and followed with other TPL containg other news from the same folder...

    Bassicly I’m just troubled how can I merge my Ditto call with jQuery listing latest 3 (or more) news form certain folder

    Any help would be appreciated

      I am doing that here: http://www.mybatesville.org/visit-batesville-arkansas.php

      I am calling in the ditto snippet inside of a <div> tag with the appropriate selector id="slider". I think everything else you described should be handled with the &tpl=`yourtpl`.

        I am using moostick (works with mootools).
        Very easy to integrate, although it says 1 line, you can easily make it feet your needs by altering the css.
        Also, it does a fade effect, not a slide - one of the best alternatives that I found as I searched all over:)

            [!Ditto? &startID=`4` &tpl=`ditto_landing_pages`!]

            Here is my tpl:

            <div class="landing">
            <p class="landing_title">
            <a href="[~[+id+]~]" title="[+title+]">[+title+]</a></p>
            <p>[+summary+]</p>
            <p class="landing_link"><a href="[~[+id+]~]" title="[+title+]">Full Page...</a></p>
            </div>
            <div style="clear: both;"></div>

                After playing a while with this... it seems ideal for y needs, BUT i come across with certain errors:

                - when I’m logged in into the manager, I can’t see the slide (shows up everything)
                - on my homepage I have MaxiGallery snippet and there this isn’t working. On other page (which is empty) it works ok

                any ideas how can I bypass MG and manager issue?

                  I have never used MaxiGallery so I am not sure about that one.

                  I have notice that when I am logged into the manager the javascript calls for the Quickedit sometimes interfere with my own javascript calls. Fortunately it only occurs when I am logged in. I sometimes use different browsers during development because of this.

                    I really don’t mind for the bugs when I’m logged in, but this script is interfering with slimbox.js (or maybe mootools.js).
                    I tried to bypass it with
                     var $j = jQuery.noConflict();
                        $j(document).ready(function().......
                    but with no luck sad

                    Any ideas how to resolve this?

                    Is anybody using EasySlider (jquery) with mootools on the same page?

                    EDIT: Eureka! I managed to work this out smiley)))) Thanks again for pointing me to easyslider wink
