I am new to modx so apologies if I have over looked some thing.

I know that I can control access to a page using document groups. I understand that I can apply document groups that are allowed to modify the content of a variable from with manager.

How ever I can not see a way to control what document groups can see a particular variable within a template.

I have a page where most variables will have public access but some variables will need to have there access controlled and to view the user will need to login. It would also me necessary to show the user that there is some hidden content that they need to log in to view.

This must be possible can some one please give me some pointers to how I might achieve this.

    Thanks in advance.

If you are talking about front end users you can use the personalize snippet to display a chunk only if a user with x permission logs in. There are a few other snippets as well that do this but I can’t remember off the top of my head smiley
