Multiple fields on a TV?

I’ve created a drop-down TV, and it’s working fine, except I want to have the selection present 2 values - specifically some text and a URL to build a link out of. Is this possible, or can I only get one value? If so, I suppose I will have to have the TV present "<a href="http://URL">TEXT</a>" which isn’t the end of the world...

I’m probably not understanding you correctly but you can have multiple fields as TV input - there’s check boxes and there’s also Listbox (multiple select)

I think I explained myself badly - let’s try again:

My site lists books for sale by a limited selection of authors. I want the person adding a new title to be able to select the author from a drop-down list. When using ditto to present the list of books, as well as inserting the author’s name from the TV, I also want to link that name to a page about that author, hence the need to have the TV present 2 values.

Since this is called template variable and you need two (variable) values... use 2 template variables ;-)

The easy way to do this is to create a modx document for each author (this will by the author page) then use a snippet / plugin like Quill to populate the pull down menu and use it in the front end if needed as well.
