Internal linking

Hello,

Speaking in terms of SEO, is internal linking via Page ID# in MODx [~65~] the same as linking to a document’s actual URL (http://www.example.com/index.php?id=65), or do search engines treat them differently?

Thanks for your help!

What you call internal linking is translated to an actual url when MODx renders the page. The search engine never sees the internal representation (and would not understand it if anyway).

Great! Thanks for the confirmation. I appreciate your response.

Yes, and the cool thing is that [~123~] will translate according to your SEO Friendly settings. So if you have it turned off it will generate links like you showed above but if SEO Friendly is on it will  use the page alias domain.com/pagealias which is even better for SEO

That’s awesome!
