I'm pretty stuck, please read!

Hi guys,

I’ve been using ModX for a few weeks now and have been finding it quite easy to work with. (well done) The deadline for the project I’m currently working on is on Friday.

I need to implement a user gallery for users to be able to upload a specific amount of pics which will require validation, and also an Events page where registered users can post about upcoming events. Is there an easy way to do these? I’ve had a look through the repository but there doesn’t seem to be one that would fit either.

If not then I’m prepared to pay someone something if they can get this done, unfortunately its very important for the website to be complete by Saturday. Please post some suggestions or if you can get this done. Thanks

Not sure if you will find something ready-made for this. Assuming you are wanting front-end methods the events could be done using a setup like newsPublisher (instead of news they would publish events), the event will remain unpublished until someone publishes it. This may work if you are not expecting thousands of events.

As for the image gallery, there is MaxiGallery. I am not sure if you can limit the number of photos in a gallery (I would not be surprised if you can, it is very full featured). I am also not sure about how you would approve the photos, maybe keep the document unpublished until approved.

I would use a custom form based event registration setup and save it to a custom database table (you can use eForm with eForm2db) and develop a module to manage the events from the manager. But this would require custom development and Saturday is a tight deadline.

Just reading through the documentation for newpublisher at the moment but can’t seem to see how I could let users something from the front end

I’ve also looked at the documentation for maxigallery and the usage seems equally hard to implement :|

Please could someone provide some example code for either of these? Or PM me if your willing to do this for a little cash

I would also be very specific about what you need and what you have done so far. One of the best ways of getting noticed by some of the MODx gurus here is to post tech questions with detailed specifics in the title and body of the actual post.
