simple text-to-html formatter for TV (textarea)

Hello,

How can I convert text which is stored in a "textarea" template variable into HTML. I just want to convert "new lines" to "
".
Is there a widget for that or something else?

Maybe there are richer "converters" available?

And: what about a richtext tv instead of textarea?

In the mean time I have made a small change to the "String formatter" widget.
I have added another option called "nl2br" and added one line in php code to convert text with nl2br() php function.

PS: I don’t want users to put rich text - some of them are french and they like to abuse text formatting ))

In case of modx updates PHx is better than hacking the core.

You’re surely right!

I always install the Textile plugin. This will do nl2br plus the other textile options.
