I don’t think Kubrick is the best starting point though. I found the "clean-copy" series much easier to adapt to ones own design. I was in the middle of all this when I found MODx.
I agree completely. I already had Kubrick doing pretty much what my friend wanted before I realized there were better alternatives. My friend really likes the site as it is, which is lucky because the Kubrick theme is a pain to alter.
Sounds good Bob.
I will throw this out there though. Your friend might be happy now with her new site. But, down the road she might come back and say "you know Bob, it would be great if we could..." The point I am making is that she might like the clean look now without really giving a hoot about the Kubrick theme, but what if she decides to add some new styling etc? Once a bunch of content is in place it makes it a little more of a challenge in a way. I think a lot of people will start with a simpler theme as the CSS etc is easier to work with than it is with Kubrick.
Once I dumped Kubrick I found I could do things due to the fact that I "could see" what I was working with...
But if she is happy then maybe its a good thing not do anything at this point? I like the site so far though...

I’m in Pa Kettle mode on it right now (don’t fix it even if it
is broke), but your advice is excellent for anyone starting a WP blog.
Thanks,
Bob
