Model Agency Gallery

I am trying to build a model agency website using modx.

What i need to do, is make a catalogue of models. It should output a gallery of models with several rows and columns of photos with names and pagination. Each photo should have a link to a page with the model’s bio, photos etc.

The idea is to form the gallery from a document tree, using image TVs for photos and document titles for names. But i can’t understand how to output data in several COLUMNS. Is this possible using Listindexer or Ditto? Or could someone direct me to a snippet that can do that?

I can’t seem to find exact information on how to do this, but i see the functionality with modx sites a lot. So it has most likely been discussed already.

You can control the output via Ditto tpls markup wise, and then style them with CSS.

If you could share a wireframe or draft of the template you are going to build, community might hint you on how to do it.

It describes how to style Ditto output with CSS to show rows of elements, instead of a single column.

The trick is to give your DIV a float attribute in CSS. Simple as hell. It’s an easy road from there.

Basic steps:
Create a Image TV and assign it to the template for the bio page (check out phpThump or DirectResize to create the thumbnails)
Create a modx document for each model
Then use Ditto to display the gallery.

That’s it.

You can also use a TV for tags and add filters in Ditto to group the models by tags.
